Meatball Recipe

I love meatballs! For a long time I thought that they would be too hard to make and too tedious! But it turns out they are so simple and so delicious this is now one of our family's favourite meals.




Four Chooks Farm's Meatballs Recipe

Meatball Ingredients:

500 grams beef mince
500 grams pork mince
3 cloves of crushed garlic
A good handful of chopped parsley
A good crack of pepper

Sauce Ingredients:

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 brown onion chopped finely
Tinned tomatoes
Small shake of salt (the pork will be quite salty so you won't need much)

Method:

Mix all ingredients into a large bowl and combine well. I use my hands.

Roll into small (tablespoon amount) balls. Set aside when finished.

In a large saucepan sauté one brown onion that has been chopped finely in a tablespoon of olive oil.

Add the meatballs and gently brown the outside.

Fill the saucepan with tinned tomatoes till all your meatballs are covered. Add a few chopped basil leaves, and leave to gently simmer till the meat balls are cooked. Stirring occasionally. Salt to taste.

Serve on fresh cooked pasta, with grated Parmesan.
